Bernard Thibault

After completing his training in internal medicine and cardiology at the University of Montreal, Dr. Bernard Thibault pursued postdoctoral clinical and research training in electrophysiology in Montreal, Oklahoma City, and Amsterdam.

A member of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS), he also serves on the board of the Canadian Heart Rhythm Society as treasurer and is a fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society (International).

Dr. Thibault is a full clinical professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Montreal, Canada. As a clinical cardiologist, he has been dedicated to clinical research and teaching since 1995 at the Montreal Heart Institute and the University of Montreal. His main interests include implantable devices in electrophysiology (pacemakers, defibrillators), the interaction between heart failure and arrhythmias (atrial and ventricular), and the treatment of heart failure through resynchronization therapy.

Dr. Thibault is the principal investigator or co-investigator on numerous local, multicenter, national, and international research projects. He is the lead author or co-author of over 150 publications in national and international peer-reviewed scientific journals and has presented more than 250 scientific abstracts at cardiology and electrophysiology conferences worldwide.
