Fabrice Ieroncig

Dr. Fabrice Ieroncig completed his medical degree at the Université de Montréal (Trois-Rivières Campus) from 2009 to 2014. He then pursued residency training in Internal Medicine at Université Laval from 2014 to 2017, followed by a cardiology residency at Université de Montréal from 2017 to 2020.

In 2020, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in cardiology.
He subsequently completed a fellowship at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM), specializing in pacemaker implantation and achieving Level 3 expertise in echocardiography.

Clinical Practice

Since 2021, Dr. Ieroncig has been practicing cardiology at Hôpital Pierre-Le Gardeur.
His clinical activities include:

  • diagnostic echocardiography,
  • pacemaker implantation,
  • evaluation and management of common cardiovascular diseases.

 

Before joining Pierre-Le Gardeur, he worked at the Preventia Cardiovascular Prevention Clinic (2018–2020) and later as a cardiologist in Saint-Georges de Beauce (2020–2021).

Research and Innovation

Throughout his training, Dr. Ieroncig has been actively involved in research, including participation in the MAGIC registry, which examines antithrombotic therapy strategies in patients with anterior STEMI and wall-motion abnormalities.

He has contributed to projects focusing on:

  • thrombosis prevention,
  • coronary complications,
  • modern approaches to coronary revascularization.

 

Earlier in his career, he also worked as a research assistant at Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital and collaborated on historical projects documenting the evolution of neurology and cardiology in Quebec.

Commitment to Cardiovascular Education

Dr. Ieroncig is committed to medical education and patient understanding.
He is:

  • creator of the “Cardiovascular Physical Exam” mobile app (iOS and Android), summarizing key clinical findings associated with cardiovascular conditions;
  • a collaborator with ICardio.ca since 2017, contributing to article writing, multimedia development, and the mission of improving patient education.
