Dr. Anique Ducharme earned a dual degree in Medicine (MD) and Biomedical Sciences (MSc, specializing in heart transplantation) from the Université de Montréal in 1991. She completed her cardiology residency in 1996.
She further specialized in echocardiography at the Montreal Heart Institute and pursued advanced training in molecular biology and heart failure at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, in Boston.

Dr. Ducharme is a distinguished Professor of Medicine at the Université de Montréal and holds the prestigious Marcelle and Jean Coutu, Cal & Janine Moisan Chair for Best Practices in Advanced Heart Failure. She founded and currently directs the Heart Failure Clinic at the Montreal Heart Institute (MHI) and has served as a Senior Clinical Research Scholar for the Fonds québécois de recherche en santé (FQRS).
