l\u2019int\u00e9rieur du c\u0153ur. On parle de <strong>tumeur b\u00e9nigne<\/strong>, ce qui signifie qu\u2019il ne s\u2019agit pas d\u2019un cancer et qu\u2019elle ne se propage pas \u00e0 d\u2019autres organes comme peuvent le faire les tumeurs malignes. <\/p><p>Cependant, le c\u0153ur \u00e9tant une pompe essentielle \u00e0 la circulation du sang, toute masse qui s\u2019y d\u00e9veloppe peut perturber son fonctionnement. Il est le plus souvent <strong>attach\u00e9 <\/strong>\u00e0 la paroi interne du c\u0153ur<strong>, au niveau du septum interauriculaire<\/strong>, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire la cloison qui s\u00e9pare les deux oreillettes. <\/p><p>Cette zone correspond \u00e0 un point d\u2019ancrage fr\u00e9quent pour le myxome. \u00c0 partir de l\u00e0, la masse peut bouger \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de l\u2019oreillette au rythme des battements cardiaques. Cette mobilit\u00e9 explique pourquoi certains sympt\u00f4mes peuvent varier selon la position du corps ou appara\u00eetre de fa\u00e7on intermittente.  <\/p><p>Plus rarement, le myxome peut se former ailleurs dans le c\u0153ur. Dans la plupart des cas, sa croissance est <strong>lente et progressive<\/strong>, s\u2019\u00e9talant sur plusieurs mois, voire plusieurs ann\u00e9es. Cette \u00e9volution graduelle explique pourquoi il peut rester longtemps silencieux et \u00eatre d\u00e9couvert fortuitement lors d\u2019un examen r\u00e9alis\u00e9 pour une autre raison.  <\/p><p>Cependant, m\u00eame si sa croissance est habituellement lente, le myxome demeure <strong>impr\u00e9visible<\/strong>. Selon sa taille, sa forme et surtout sa mobilit\u00e9, des sympt\u00f4mes peuvent appara\u00eetre relativement rapidement, sans lien direct avec la vitesse de croissance elle-m\u00eame.
