    The heart's electrical activity can be recorded using small electrodes placed on the skin. This test is called an electrocardiogram (ECG)<\/strong>. Like a fingerprint, every person's ECG is unique. It records the heart's electrical activity, heartbeat by heartbeat.<\/p>
