He then completed his specialized training in cardiac surgery at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al from 2007 to 2013.<\/p><p>During his residency, he also completed a Master of Science degree at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al (2010\u20132012), focusing on endothelial function, an important area of research for understanding cardiovascular disease.<\/p><p><strong>International Specialized Training<\/strong><\/p><p>To further develop his surgical expertise, Dr. Laflamme pursued advanced training in Europe.<\/p><p>He completed a fellowship in minimally invasive cardiac surgery at the Herzzentrum Leipzig in Germany from 2013 to 2014, a center internationally recognized for its expertise in advanced cardiac surgical techniques.<\/p><p>He then completed a fellowship in valve reconstruction at the Saint-Luc University Clinics in Brussels, Belgium from 2014 to 2015, where he refined his expertise in advanced heart valve repair techniques.<\/p><p><strong>Clinical Practice at IUCPQ<\/strong><\/p><p>Since 2015, Dr. Laflamme has been practicing as an adult cardiac surgeon at the Quebec Heart and Lung Institute (IUCPQ).<\/p><p>His clinical practice includes:<\/p><ul><li>heart transplantation<\/li><li>mechanical circulatory support<\/li><li>heart valve reconstruction<\/li><li>minimally invasive cardiac surgery<\/li><li>arterial coronary revascularization<\/li><li>aortic surgery<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>An Approach Focused on Innovation and Collaboration<\/strong><\/p><p>In his daily practice, Dr. Laflamme is involved in the care of patients with complex heart conditions. His approach emphasizes modern surgical techniques and close collaboration with multidisciplinary cardiology teams in order to offer treatments tailored to each individual
