Dr. Paul Poirier is a professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy at Laval University and plays an important role in training students in research and teaching students and residents.
Cardiologist with an interest in diabetes and obesity for over twenty years, Dr. Poirier was recruited in 2000 at the University Institute of Cardiology and Pulmonology of Quebec City to assume medical responsibility for the prevention program / cardiac rehabilitation.
Dr. Poirier has several research interests and has collaborated on a number of basic and clinical science studies and local, national and international clinical research projects. His research was funded by the Quebec Heart Institute Fund, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Quebec Health Research Fund (FRSQ) and the Diabetes Association of Canada.
