Dr. Paolo Costi earned his medical degree at the University of Montreal, in 1983. Then, he completed his residency in internal medicine, followed by cardiology, at the University of Montreal's teaching hospitals, in 1988.
Before beginning his medical practice at Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal hospital, Dr. Costi did complementary training in cardiac electrophysiology at the Pennsylvania University Hospital, in Philadelphia.
Dr. Costi is an active member in cardiology at the Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM), and an associate member of the Centre hospitalier régional du sud de Lanaudière et du Haut-Richelieu.
In addition to practicing general cardiology, his fields of interest include various arrhythmia problems, their investigation and treatment, as well as the implantation and monitoring of pacemakers and defibrillators.
Dr. Costi is Clinical Assistant at the University of Montreal Faculty of Medicine. He is responsible for teaching the cardiovascular portion of that university's pharmacology course.
He is Head of Cardiology at the CHUM since 2019 and medical co-manager for the consolidated cardiovascular services at the CHUM, since 2020.
