
A graduate of the University of Montreal in 1981, Dr Benoit Coutu practiced general medicine for 3 years before completing his residency in internal medicine and then in cardiology in the network of the University of Montreal in 1990.
Subsequently he completed his training in cardiac electrophysiology specializing in heart rhythm disorders.
His areas of interest are cardiac arrhythmias, cardiostimulators and implantable defibrillators.
Dr. Coutu is also involved in clinical research in national and international projects.
He is currently associate professor of medicine at the University of Montreal and head of the cardiac electrophysiology department at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Montréal, CHUM.
